Granary Gourmet Dinner

    The dinner was a wonderful success, thanks to help from many people, donations of silent auction items, and an amazing dinner!  Thanks to all!  Click here for great photos by Lauren Steinberg:
    SATURDAY, September 13, 2014, 6 pm.  

    Joshua McCracken and Erin Condo McCracken, of EcoVents were the chefs again this year.

    The menu for 2014 featured Spanish Tapas

    Salad  Arugula, Grape, and Almond Salad with Saba Vinaigrette           Bread – Ron & Sue Smith

    Soup   Spanish Pumpkin & Bean Soup

    Cracked Marinated Spanish Olives
    Salted Almonds
    ~Mushroom & Cheese
    ~Chicken Poblano Cream Cheese  
    ~Beef & Potato

    Vegetable Side Course
    Papas Bravas (Spanish Potatoes)
    Vegetarian Paella

    Dinner Course
    Basque-Style Chicken with Prosciutto &  Olives
    Jamon Con Higos (Spanish Ham & Figs)

    Chick Peas & Chorizo

    Roasted Sweet Onions with Blue  Cheese (vegetarian)            

    Chickpea & Spinach (vegetarian)  

    Dessert  Cherry Almond Tart

    Coffee from Café Lemont, Wine from Mt. Nittany Winery, and Beer from Otto’s Brewery, Thank you!

    Many volunteers helped with setting up, serving, and cleaning up, and 49 diners enjoyed dinner in the Grain Elevator on Mt. Nittany Road.  There was also a small Silent Auction, featuring a beautiful Amish Quilt, donated by Mary D. Watson.

    All proceeds above food costs will benefit our Thompson Granary rehabilitation work and $50 of each meal is tax deductible. 

    It was a delicious and elegant dinner in 2014, and 2015 promises to be even better!

    Here is a small photo of a beautiful hand quilted, Amish Quilt, commissioned by Mary D. Watson and donated to the LVA.  It will be one of the items in our Silent Auction, which will also include Nittany Valley Symphony season tickets, art work, art lessons, massage gift certificates, and more.
