The
31st Annual Strawberry Festival, benefiting the Granary Project of
the Lemont Village Association, will be Saturday, June 16, 2012, from 4:00 to
8:00 p.m. on the Village Green, located
in the center of Lemont, between Dale Street and Mt. Nittany Road off Pike Street. There is no rain date, as we have tents.
The festival will feature fresh strawberries, home made cakes (sign up to bring a cake at the Lemont Post Office bulletin board in May,) ice cream, strawberry smoothies made by a bicycle powered blender run by the Centre Region Bicycle Coalition, and lemonade, for $6 per adult and $3 per child from ages 5-12.
Music from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. will be by OverheaD from 4-6 pm and Zak Sobel from 6-8 pm.
Children's Activities will be provided by the Art Alliance of Central PA all afternoon.
Pony rides will be from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Tours of the historic Thompson Grain Elevator and Coal Sheds (the Granary) will be available upon request. Money raised will go toward continuation of the work for restoration of the buildings and toward construction of proper rest room amenities and storage space.
For more information, please email sue@lemontvillage.org or call Sue or Ron Smith, 238-1288.
